Can I Have a Doula During Covid?

Covid during pregnancy has come with a lot of unknowns, especially in the realm of who you are permitted to bring along with you to your birth. This list will be helpful in knowing whether or not your hospital allows doulas during Covid. Please keep in mind that hospitals are notoriously bad about making this information available to their doctors and midwives and as such you may be incorrectly told doulas are not permitted. Our local hospitals have been incredibly openminded and have trusted The Birth Haven doulas throughout the pandemic. We not only are considerate of the safety and wellbeing of our clients, but also of the hospital staff. Currently all local hospitals on our list are allowing a doula along with a birth partner as per their hospital visitor policies. We look forward to being part of your birth team!

St. Joseph East Womens Hospital: One allowable visitor. Doula is permitted and does not count as a visitor and must either show proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours of arrival.
